Trend Alert: Our Favourite Interior Design Trends for 2018

As leaders in apartment development, we ensure we remain consistently up-to-date with the latest and best trends in architecture, landscape and interior design. As part of our steadfast commitment to creating homes that set the benchmark for quality, we only partner with the very best of builders, architects and designers. Partnering with like-minded creators who value excellence, ensures we deliver projects that are intrinsically and simultaneously of their time and timeless. Here are three of our favourite interior design trends of 2018:

Maximised Natural Light

A focus of interior designers in recent years has been harnessing and augmenting natural light within rooms. Amplified natural lighting not only makes spaces feel crisp, large and bright, it also offers internal climate and energy-use benefits. Maximised natural lighting can be achieved with the inclusion of large windows and skylights that flood interiors with sunlight. Our apartments feature thoughtfully considered floorplans, designed to achieve optimal natural lighting and seamlessly integrate with outdoor areas.

The residences of our Armadale project, Chronicle, embody the maximisation of natural light. The interiors have been carefully crafted to create the perfect balance between contemporary living and traditional luxury. The living zones are structured around the flood of natural light and sumptuously designed spaces that flow seamlessly between inside and out.

Statement Fittings

Whether black or copper, industrial or ornate, statement fittings are a popular trend that began taking the interior design world by storm in 2017. The trend transforms fittings from insignificant elements to striking features that set the tone for interior spaces. Fittings can include anything from tapware to handles, and there are a multitude of styles to choose from. Elegant fittings with soft features are classic and timeless pieces, while fittings in a dark or carbon-like tone embody the contemporary style. We believe the greatest design quality is found in the smallest of details. That’s why we love making the seemingly small elements of design – such as fixtures, fittings and tapware – the statement pieces of our apartments.

The residences of our Hawthorn project, St James Park, will showcase striking and defining fittings. The understated elegance of these lavish residences feature the creative use of natural materials and superior finishes alongside premium fixtures and appliances and refined joinery detail, which bring together an element of luxury living.

Minimalism

Minimalism is a timeless trend. The interior design style can be approached in a myriad of different ways, but consistently maintains one design philosophy – less is more. Whether featuring a monochromatic colour scheme or one with subdues hues, minimalist layouts and designs allow maximised customisation and adaptability for residents, which is perhaps our favourite feature of the design. We love creating spaces of understated elegance that are practical in use and sophisticated in design. Minimalistic interior design affords residents the ability to personalise their own space.

Our near-complete Malvern project, Vanguard, will completely embody minimalistic design. The apartment interiors feature timeless finishes and a refined colour palette, so they can easily be adapted to suit individual tastes. The apartments are designed to be robust and their durable, quality fixtures and finishes will ensure that the apartments stay in great condition for the long term.
